Šibenik

The city of Šibenik is located in the most impressive natural harbor and the most impressive maritime entrance to the city, the canal of Sv. Ante at the mouth of the Krka River and its archipelago is made up of over 200 islands and an alpine ridge. Sibenik is an old medieval town, about its rich historical past speak many fortresses the palaces and the church that have been preserved to this day.

Sibenik area has two national parks - Kornati, the most indented island system of the Adriatic and Krka National Park - known for its sedimentary barriers and waterfalls like Skradinski Buk and the small island of Visovac with the Franciscan monastery from the 17th century.

Šibenik port - Mandalina port - is one of the most secured ports in Adriatic as its natural position protects from Jugo and Bura winds. Marina Mandalina has a berthing capacity of 440 in-water slips (from 10 to 70m) and 30 dry docks.

The largest island of the archipelago is Murter with two nautical ports - Murter and Betina Hramina. The island of Murter is known for the traditional shipbuilding of wooden fishing boats and fishing. The other islands of the archipelago are Zirje, Kaprije and Zlarin, once called the Golden island (insula auri) known for their handmade jewelry from corals. 

The nearest airport is the Split airport (45km). Zadar airport is 50km away.
